CLUB LEVEL - It all starts with members in a club.
DIVISION LEVEL - Each club is geographically clustered together with other clubs
to form
a division. Divisions are overseen by a lieutenant governor, who is a representative
of the
district board. We are Division 28 in the California-Nevada-Hawaii District and have
eight
clubs in Southern Nevada.
DISTRICT LEVEL - A district is made up of divisions. There are currently 49 districts
within Kiwanis International. Each district is led by a governor who is elected at
the district’s annual convention. Our district includes all of California, Nevada
and Hawaii.
INTERNATIONAL LEVEL - The districts make up Kiwanis International. Currently, there
are Kiwanis clubs in approximately 80 countries and geographic territories. Each
year, delegates at the Kiwanis International convention elect members and officers
of the Kiwanis International Board, which includes a president, president-elect,
vice president, past president and 15 trustees
KIWANIS CHILDREN’S FUND - Kiwanis Children's Fund helps by amplifying our impact
in communities around the world. They provide grants for Kiwanis Service Leadership
Programs, club and district service projects, disaster relief, and for our Worldwide
Service Projects - the elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus and iodine deficiency
disorders.
Kiwanis International is a global community of clubs, members and partners dedicated
to improving the lives of children one community at a time. Today, we stand with
more than 550,000 members - from K-Kids to Key Club to Kiwanis and many ages in between
- in 80 countries and geographic areas. Each community has different needs, and Kiwanis
empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as
fighting hunger, improving literacy and offering guidance.
Kiwanis clubs host nearly 150,000 service projects each year.
